Grooveyard singer Lester McLean’s own original music incorporates a variety of soul and pop, and his covers are always surprising (he looks for pop gems that other people have forgotten about until they hear him and think “Oh Yeah, that’s a great song!”). His band with Michael Occhipinti on guitar and Louis Simao on bass is at the Rex every Friday in October from 6:30-9. The Rex is located on Queen St west, just west of University and if you’ve never been, it’s got a vibe like no other place in Toronto – and it’s family friendly too!
